Oengineering is a Small Medium Enterprise working in the field of engineering and production of innovative opto-electronics solutions.
Oengineering was born as a high-tech start-up in 2017 with the aim of creating innovative solutions for optical sensors, optical communication, underwater technologies and measurement systems. Oengineering target customers are sensor industry, medical device companies, telecommunication international players.
Starting from the first year the main projects of Oengineering were developed together with important companies and research institutions. We worked in a European project funded by ESA (European Space Agency) and co-financed by ASI (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana) making the practical design and development of a working prototype of a ultra-compact telescope for optical telecommunications CubeSat (very small satellite).
We worked in the field of optical characterization in opto-electronics production plants for an important Italian company based in Milan. For them we studied and developed a system for measuring the quality of light coming from small photographic lenses for mobile phones productions lines.
Recently Oengineering started working on light propagation underwater creating a study and a prototype of a laser communication system for underwater professional applications, with the collaboration of the University of Padova, Department of Information Engineering.
With the purpose of extending the presence of Oengineering in the underwater market sector we also developed an innovative product/system concept called BRIZO which is devoted to the positioning of scuba divers and the real time acquisition of naturalistic and marine conservation data.
Role of the institution within ENLIGHTENme
Oengineering SRL will participate to the project by providing its competences in remote sensing of the artificial night lights, light pollution measurement and analysis to help the choice of the relevant areas in the three target cities to undergo the final selection. Oengineering will also monitor via satellite the pre and post change of the outdoor lighting in the selected areas.
